<aside> 👋 Hi! I’m Jesica, but people call me Jesi, and I’ve been in the Cybersecurity world for a little over a year at IBM Argentina. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn and **other social media.**

<aside> ℹ️ This is a summary of the content I studied for (ISC)²’s CC, which I took thanks to the 1M Certified in Cybersecurity campaign in early 2023. I started studying a week before the exam, already knowing or having heard of concepts but not as much in detail. Summarizing and writing helps me retain information. Feel free to use this to study in any way that works for you, including summarizing it even more . You can duplicate this as a template to your Notion and edit it as you wish.

****The (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity certification starts newcomers on their path to advanced cybersecurity certifications and future leadership roles. It proves to organizations that newly certified team members understand fundamental security principles and operations, network security and access controls and that they have the skills to meet and exceed performance standards in their beginning roles. All this allows organizations to build a stronger line of defense.
“The questions were often worded poorly or made you really think on how it’s worded. Honestly a few questions I just said “uhh what?”. At least I still passed lol. I feel like if you go in with a decent amount of knowledge and take the time on each question you should do ok.”
“The idea is to answer the questions you really need to know the material rather than just cram definitions and meanings”
“Some Questions are really easy and some take some time to think but there are some questions that didn't make sense to me at all.”
“As the exam progressed I realized I could figure some of the toughest questions out through critical thinking, process of elimination, etc. "Well the exam didn't even mention X, but it did mention Y .... in a different context. So I bet X is right" kind of thing.”
“The official (ISC)² online self-paced training course is a must. I recommend going through it thoroughly and googling for concepts and terms mentioned in passing. The exam may test your comprehension of any of them. Overall, I found the exam questions harder than the assessments included in the training. The exam questions will challenge both your factual knowledge and critical thinking skills”
My comment after taking the exam: I definitely got what these people meant. Many of the questions (at least around ten) were about concepts that I couldn’t find in the course or were just mentioned once in a paragraph, including very specific details about a concept assuming you know them in detail. You should know the steps for each process mentioned and their objectives. You should research in depth all concepts mentioned. Many of the questions were easy by just knowing the material and concepts of the course though, and most of them seemed to ask information about concepts in an indirect way or a way that made you think about the specific words asked in the question and use logic.
